Two Gables

Currently on the drawing board.

On the foot of the Wakefield hills lies a series of black gables, overlooking the Wai-Iti river valley.

Connection from the entry to the extensive views over the landscape is at the heart of the design. A curtailed foyer creates a partition between the open-plan living spaces and the bedrooms, supplemented by a private entry through a mudroom from the stand-alone garage. This division is accentuated by a feature wall running between the garage and the garden, highlighting the entrance.

A series of north-facing outdoor living spaces allow for the enjoyment of all-day sun, extending from the morning patio off the master bedroom to the evening patio off the living room. Timber feature cladding runs from the outdoor to the indoor living areas, creating a threshold between the interior and the exterior.
