Fourfold

Currently on the drawing board.

Perched in the hillside suburb of Khandallah, with views of Mount Kaukau, Fourfold is a contemporary home defined by its folded roofline. The house is divided into four half-levels that create flow on a sloping site.

The house is clad in four materials: vertical shiplap, horizontal weatherboard, vertical corrugate, and fibre cement. Each cladding marks a fold and gives a change in texture and tone.

Inside, the split levels provide a rhythm of separation and connection, allowing spaces to feel distinct yet interwoven. Designed for a mother and her two teenage sons, the home balances openness with privacy, offering moments of retreat as well as shared gathering spaces.
