Luwte

Currently on the drawing board.

A home tuned to the elements, shaped by wind, light, and shelter.

Luwte (pronounced LOO‑tuh) carries the feeling of the word itself - a soft breath, a quiet pause, the moment you step out of the wind and into calm.

The site rolls over the hilltop from all sides – shaping weather, shaping time. This small home listens to those winds, responding not with resistance but with openness and shelter. Each corner of the home is oriented to a direction and a temperament - creating a compact plan with a big story.

NORTH WIND Cultivate Calm, The Living Room

A space of warmth and welcome, the living room opens to the north - catching light and landscape. This is the social heart of the home: a place to gather, breathe, and grow together.

EAST WIND Illuminate and awaken, The kitchen

The kitchen sits in the east, waking with the sun. This is where each day begins - a space of rhythm and renewal, grounded in ritual and made golden by morning light

WEST WIND Flow and Adapt, The kids bunk room

To the west, the children’s room catches the afternoon sun and the energy of movement. It’s a place for stories, play, and transformation - a flexible space alive with imagination..

TONGA - SOUTH WIND Anchor and shelter, The main bedrooms

Facing the cooler south, the main bedrooms are a quiet retreat. Protected from the wind, these rooms offer stillness, strength, and a deep sense of rest.

THE CALM WITHIN

Ground & Centre, The courtyard

Where the four winds meet, stillness is found. The central courtyard is the home’s heart — open to the sky, protected by the walls, and centred around a single symbolic tree. This is a space for reflection, balance, and breath. A quiet sanctuary at the centre of movement.
