Hidden Garden House

Hidden Garden House is conceived as a private sanctuary, arranged around a central courtyard garden that forms the heart of daily life. The design balances seclusion and openness, shielding the occupants from the busyness of the city while maintaining a continuous connection to nature.
Created for two adults and their much-loved dog, the house is both retreat and gathering place. With an open-door policy for friends and family, the design accommodates intimate moments of daily living as well as the more-than-occasional party for many. Indoor rooms extend seamlessly into the courtyard, creating a fluid environment where greenery, light, and social life intersect.
Currently under construction with John Kitto Construction, builders of Hole in One and the soon-to-be-published Rongopai Reno, the project will be documented as it unfolds via Instagram at @hidden.ihaka.
